Penny is a respected local identity and creative personality.  Her vibrant and vivacious nature bring flair to her endeavours, excellence to her work and a significance to her relationships that leave a mark on the style landscape.

Currently, Penny`s world is busy with teaching Interior Design Lifestyle courses at the WEA in Wollongong.  With the success of `Creating Your Dream Room`, the 3 week Saturday morning timeslot is proving a winner with men and women alike!

It`s been more than a year now since Monique at House About Inside Out invited Penny to be their inhouse Designer and with monthly newsletters updating everyone on what`s hot and happening in the Design World and regular stints on their events calender, Penny has been doing what she loves -informing us on all things, colour, texture and design.

Some history ..........

Penny`s life is embedded with beauty and the things that she loves and values ... the natural world around her, French decor, family life and friendships and the creativity of local South Coast artists and galleries.
As a young spirited teenager, growing up in a cottage by the sea, her gift and passion for colour, texture and design were innate and evident from a young age.  Penny`s pocket money came from drawing up plans for family, friends and community members.  Back in those days, the Shellharbour Council Planning Department remember Penny as a savvy redhead with a keen eye for `what needed to go where` and a desire to complete the job to a high standard.

This passion and capability lead Penny to studies in art after her schooling.  However, Penny also had a deep connection to her local community which saw her move into a career around the issues of social justice including work focusing on personal development and post graduate studies in counselling.  This committment to the Illawarra community spanned many years and gave Penny both professional acclaim and a solid empathy with people.  At this time in her career Penny continued to hone her creative skills through experience in event styling and management and room makeovers.  A successful career, holidays in Europe and Asia and raising a family, made life busy and fullfilling.

In 2002 Penny took time out for herself and it was then she refocused her energies on her love of creating beautiful spaces.  After further studies including a Diploma in Interior Design, the boutique business of Style by Penelope was formed.
With a range of trustworthy and professional tradespeople, and ongoing professional development, the team at Style by Penelope now service the Illawarra, Southern Highlands and beyond.
